Algorithm OasisMC runs on Minecraft: Java Edition. There is no whitelist and nothing to install first.
Connect
From the main menu

Open Minecraft: Java Edition
Version 26.2 is recommended. Older Java versions can connect too, but the newest gives the best experience.

Multiplayer → Add Server
The server name can be anything. It is only a label in your own list.

Paste the address
Put this in the Server Address field, then choose Done. No port number is needed.

Join, and accept the resource pack
The server sends its own resource pack as you connect. Accept it — the custom mobs, items and menus are all drawn with it, and declining disconnects you.
You're in. Now what?
Your first hour.
You spawn with $1,000 and nothing else decided. Most players do these four things, in roughly this order.
Take three jobs
You can hold three at once. Pick the ones that match what you already enjoy doing.
Leave spawn
Use /rtp to land somewhere in the survival world, then pitch a free camp while you get settled.
Do your dailies
Three quests a day and the first tiers of the battlepass will fund the $5,000 a town costs.
Troubleshooting
When it doesn't connect
"Can't connect to server" straight away
Nine times out of ten this is the wrong edition. The server is Java Edition only — if your launcher says Bedrock, or you are on a console, phone or tablet, the address will not work however it is typed.
On Java, check the address for a stray space at the start or end. Pasting sometimes brings one along.
I was disconnected about a resource pack
The server's resource pack is required, and declining it or failing to download it disconnects you. Reconnect and accept the prompt.
If you were never asked, select the server in your list, choose Edit, and set Server Resource Packs to Enabled or Prompt.
"Outdated client" or "Outdated server"
Your game version is further from the server's than it can bridge. The status strip at the top of this page shows the version the server is running — switch your launcher profile to that and reconnect.
The server list shows a red X
Check the status strip at the top of this page first. If it says the server is offline, it really is down and nothing is wrong on your end — restarts are usually short.
If it says online and you still cannot reach it, say so in Discord and someone will confirm whether it is just you.
I'm on Bedrock — is there any way in?
Not at the moment. The server is Java Edition only. If that changes it will be announced in Discord.
