Privacy policy
What we collect, why, and what happens to it — in plain language.
Overview
Algorithm OasisMC ("we", "us", "the server") operates the Minecraft server at play.AlgorithmOasisMC.com and this website at algorithmoasismc.com. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and what choices you have — whether you are browsing or playing.
Information we collect
On this website
This website does not set cookies, does not run analytics or advertising scripts, and does not ask you to create an account. Fonts, styles and scripts are all served from our own domain.
Two things are stored in your own browser and never sent to us: a small service worker that makes sure you see the latest version of each page, and — only if you type it into the vote page — your Minecraft username, so you do not have to retype it. Clearing your browser's site data removes both.
On the live map
The live map is a separate application served from map.algorithmoasismc.com. It only loads if you open it, and it saves your display settings in your own browser. While you are in the survival world, your username and position are visible on it to anyone looking. Being invisible in game hides you from it.
On the Minecraft server
Joining the server collects the information any Minecraft server needs to run: your Minecraft username and account UUID, your IP address (through standard connection logs), and gameplay data such as inventory, statistics and chat and command history. This exists to run the game, investigate rule violations and keep the server fair.
Discord
Joining our Discord server is governed by Discord's own privacy policy in addition to this one. If we ever offer optional account linking between Minecraft and Discord, we will only use that link for the stated purpose.
How we use information
- Operate, maintain and secure the server and website.
- Enforce server rules and investigate reports of cheating, griefing or abuse.
- Communicate important announcements through Discord.
- Improve gameplay balance and fix bugs.
We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with third parties except where this policy says otherwise or where required by law.
Third-party services
Some pages make requests from your browser directly to services we do not control. Each request necessarily includes your IP address.
- mcstatus.io — the live server status shown on the homepage and joining guide is fetched from the public
api.mcstatus.ioAPI. - Discord — the member counts shown on some pages are fetched from Discord's public invite API.
- Vote sites — links on the vote page open third-party server lists, each with its own privacy policy.
We do not control how these third parties handle the data sent to them.
Data retention
We keep server logs and gameplay data for as long as reasonably needed to operate the server and enforce our rules, and remove data we no longer have a legitimate reason to keep.
Children's privacy
Minecraft: Java Edition requires a Microsoft account, and eligibility to hold one is governed by Microsoft's own terms. We do not knowingly collect more information from a player than the server itself generates through normal play, regardless of age.
Your choices
You can stop using the server or website at any time. If you would like information tied to your account removed, contact us using the method below and we will respond within a reasonable time.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the server and website grow. Material changes will be reflected here, with a new date at the top of the page.
